To My Holy Community: Jan. 21, 2016 Back on my kibbutz and its good to be home. Also its good to see friendly faces who welcome me back! I wanted to share several adventures with Frank and Adina (Charlotte) … [Read more...] about Rabbi Jay Report #7

Arad has a sizeable … [Read more...] about Rabbi Letter #5

If the city were besieged with the water source outside the city walls the residents could not last long, especially during … [Read more...] about Letter 4 from Rabbi Jay
Dear All, Last week Judy and I went on a “tiyul” (trip) to the North of Israel. We started at Tel Megiddo which has guarded the Jezreel Valley for 7,000 years. Megiddo has 25 layers of inhabitation, each civilization building upon the ruins of the last. When King David conquered Megiddo 3,000 years ago, his was the 16th level of building on that site! The ancient “Way of the … [Read more...] about Latest Letter from Rabbi Jay
Dear Community, Another interesting week….On Monday, on our Kibbutz (Mashabei Sadeh), we enjoyed an amazing concert with the unlikely combination of balalaika and piano. Two Russian immigrants played for us. The woman played the piano and explained things in broken Hebrew, but with a great smile, and the man whose name was alternatively Alexander or Sasha, played the balalaika … [Read more...] about Letter from Rabbi Jay from Israel
