Steve & I just went to see the movie “Nuremberg” last night – it was FABULOUS. The movie, and Russell Crowe, deserve Oscars for this. I don’t think most people under 60 really know much about the Nuremberg trials back in 1945 (I didn’t, and I was a History minor in college) which set the legal precedents for international law. Most people in 1945 had NO IDEA what was really going on in Nazi Germany after WW1 to create such a monster as Hitler and the German high command. I think this should be a “must see” for anyone not familiar with this history. Oh, and the movie (IMHO) is very well done and best seen in a theater.
To quote the AI info that came up about this film: ” ‘Nuremberg’ is a 2025 historical drama film directed by James Vanderbilt, focusing on psychiatrist Douglas Kelley, who evaluates Hermann Göring’s fitness to stand trial during the Nuremberg trials. The film addresses the historical context of the Nuremberg trials, emphasizing the importance of accountability for war crimes and the complexities of human morality. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing relevance of these themes in contemporary discussions about justice and human rights.”
I hope you get to see it – the theater is best but if not, when it arrives for streaming. — Cynde
