First, a message from a member:
We Will Pause Until PassoverAs we have let you all know, we are taking a "rest" from all formal events sponsored by the JCCO/Congregation Shalom Bayit. Yet, we are here for you. If you need support– food, supplies, transportation, connection– reach out and let us know. Our hearts are together, even if we cannot physically be together for a short while. Below are some resources to consider:Virtual Shabbat Resources from Reconstructing Judaism:Thanks to our decision to affilliate, we have a wealth of resources and support from the larger RJ community. Check the reconstructingjudaism.org website for all kinds of ways to stay connected and get support. Specifically, while we are on hiatus from services, there are great links to ritual, news and learning available to us — check out the Virtual Shabbat Box! https://www.reconstructingjudaism.org/shabbat-boxAnd….https://www.ritualwell.org/ritual/blessing-washing-hands-during-pandemic https://www.ritualwell.org/ritual/traveler%E2%80%99s-prayer-time-pandemic https://www.ritualwell.org/ritual/ritual-ending-quarantine-or-self-isolation https://www.reconstructingjudaism.org/ReconLearning And now for a happy message on behalf of a member of our community– Thank you for all the support!Aliza and her family are so appreciative of the donations to the gofundme and the bake sale purchases. We thought you’d like to see the parents of the pup that will be born… soon… and be trained to support Aliza on her path to independent adulthood! (See photos below) The JCCO/Congregation Shalom Bayit has chosen to help one of our members in her quest to secure a Diabetic Alert Dog. A donation was made from one of our restricted funds on her behalf and we are inviting you to consider if you can help in her effort. Here is the link to her gofundme page: You are not obligated to donate, but if you can help spread the word or want to help, we know the family will be greatly appreciative!
