Bend, Oregon is a PJ Library Community! That means that Jewish children ages six months to eight years old who live in Central Oregon qualify for the acclaimed PJ Library free book program. PJ Library mails free, high-quality Jewish children’s literature and music to families every month. Themes include Jewish values, holidays, rituals and history. This is a great way for Jewish families to bring a little Jewish enrichment into their lives. There are no strings attached – families need not be members of a synagogue to join PJ Library, and no one outside of PJ Library is allowed to contact subscribers. Families may receive announcements of Jewish, family-friendly events in Bend including Jewish storytimes which are offered throughout the year.
“PJ” stands for “pajamas,” because we often read to our children at bedtime when kids are wearing their pajamas.
We encourage families with young children to sign up their kids today for this wonderful program. It is easy to enroll – simply go to this website:
PJ Library is supported locally by Congregation Shalom Bayit (JCCO), Temple Beth Tikvah, Oregon B’nai Brith Camp and Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. National funding comes from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
