We are proud to have a Jewish Community Religious School, combining teachers and students from all of the Jewish communities in Bend. Our religious education program consists of a Religious School and a Hebrew School Program. Religious School meets twice a month, students begin at age 4 and continue until Bar and Bat Mitzvah. Our curriculum includes Torah stories, life cycle events, the importance of tzedakah, prayer, Jewish heroes, and Jewish values and ethics. We learn about and celebrate the Jewish holidays as they occur.
We have an outstanding and innovative teaching staff which includes post Bar and Bat Mitzvah student teachers. Students usually begin this program in the third grade and continue until their Bar or Bat Mitzvah.
To prepare for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, students work with a mentor in addition to working with Rabbi Yossi.
